Abstract

This study dealt with the metaphors of (not) by study and applied analysis on selected models of poetry in the Lisan Al-Arab lexicon. The researcher followed the descriptive analytical method, and the study reached several results, the most important of which are: 1/ That a single letter changes the meaning of what it is attached to, and turns its connotation to the opposite of it, where by a single word has more than one meaning according to the letter connecting to it.
