Abstract

This paper addresses the issue of gum Arabic as a diplomatic negotiation tool aimed at lifting the economic sanctions imposed on Sudan since the 1990s. the paper focused mainly on the significance of gum Arabic as a vital cash-generating resource, and the political one, exploring its potential as a leverage instrument in negotiations against economic sanctions. The importance of this study stems from its focus on one of Sudan’s most critical economic resources -gum Arabic- and its contribution to enriching academic literature with an analytically grounded topic that has received limited scholarly attention.
