Abstract
A leading agricultural hub Sudan’s Gezira Scheme has experienced a severe downturn caused by persistent mismanagement, elite dominance and recent unrest. This article contends that its comprehensive overhaul represents more than an agricultural initiative; it could serve as a driving force for wider national progress in a post-conflict Sudan. Using a qualitative case study approach the study integrates articles, policy analyses and firsthand information, from a stakeholder brainstorming meeting. It extracts insights from agricultural reforms in vulnerable and post-conflict countries such as Rwanda, Liberia and Sierra Leone
